European Championships Begin

The wait is over. Today, the 2026 European Senior Fencing Championships officially get underway in Antony, France, bringing together the continent’s finest athletes for six days of world-class competition.

The opening day features two individual events. Men’s Épée will start at 08:30, while Women’s Sabre will begin at 12:30. Throughout the day, Europe’s leading athletes will battle through the preliminary rounds and direct eliminations in pursuit of a place in the evening finals and a chance to become European Champion.

As the most important event on the European fencing calendar, the championships offer a unique opportunity to see Olympic champions, world medallists and rising stars competing for one of the sport’s most prestigious titles. Every touch will matter as athletes battle not only for medals, but also for pride and a place in European fencing history.

The European Fencing Confederation invites all fencing fans to support their national teams and follow the action throughout the day. Cheer for your country's athletes, follow every result and don't miss the decisive bouts as the race for the first European titles of 2026 begins.
