The Main Event Arrives

15 June 2026

The most important event of the European fencing season is about to begin. From 16 to 21 June, Europe’s finest athletes will gather in Antony, France, for the 2026 European Senior Fencing Championships, where continental titles, national pride and crucial momentum in the road to Los Angeles 2028 will all be at stake.

For six days, the best fencers from across Europe will compete in individual and team events across all three weapons, creating a celebration of excellence that brings together Olympic champions, world medallists, rising stars and passionate fencing fans from every corner of the continent.

This year’s championships hold special significance. Hosted in France, a nation with a rich fencing tradition, the event also coincides with the 120th anniversary of the French Fencing Federation, adding another layer of prestige to an already historic occasion. As EFC President Pascal Tesch noted, these championships are not only about medals, but also about respect, friendship and the unity of the European fencing family.

Six Days of Top-Level Fencing

The action begins on 16 June with Men’s Épée and Women’s Sabre individual competitions. The following days will feature Women’s Foil and Men’s Sabre, before concluding the individual programme with Women’s Épée and Men’s Foil. Team events will then take centre stage from 19 to 21 June, when Europe’s strongest national squads battle for continental glory.

With Olympic champions, world-class veterans and ambitious newcomers all competing on the same piste, every day promises unforgettable moments and intense battles for medals.
