The U14 Circuit Lausanne concluded this weekend in Switzerland, bringing together young épée fencers from across Europe for two days of international competition at the Vaudoise Arena.
Italy enjoyed a highly successful weekend, claiming both gold medals in the individual events. In the men’s competition, Emanuele Cuculi secured victory after a strong performance throughout the tournament. France’s Ulysse Corval finished second, while Julian Sniegocki Schrader of Switzerland and Alexis Trivini Bellini of Italy shared the bronze medal positions.
The women’s event saw another Italian success as Noemi Bego took the gold medal ahead of compatriot Matilde Giulia Marchi, completing an Italian one-two finish. Joanna Garrigues of Switzerland and Irene Lusceac of Germany finished in joint third place after reaching the semi-finals.
Once again, the Lausanne stage of the EFC U14 Circuit provided valuable international experience for Europe’s young athletes, offering them the opportunity to compete against fencers from different countries and continue their development on the European circuit.
