The European fencing family has received the sad news of the passing of Farhad Kasimov at the age of 61.
A respected figure within Azerbaijani fencing, Kasimov dedicated many years to the development and promotion of the sport as Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Fencing Federation. Through his work and commitment, he contributed to the growth of fencing both nationally and within the wider European community.
Throughout his career, he was known for his professionalism, support of athletes and coaches, and his continuous efforts to strengthen the position of fencing in Azerbaijan. His contribution to the sport will be remembered by many across the international fencing family.
The European Fencing Confederation expresses its sincere condolences to Farhad Kasimov’s family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Azerbaijani fencing community during this difficult time.
