Osijek hosts next generation of épée

The U14 Circuit in Osijek brought together Europe’s youngest talents for two days of intense épée competition, once again confirming the depth and promise of the new generation.

In the men’s event, Hungary dominated the podium, with Gergely Kardos taking the victory after a strong and controlled performance throughout the day. He was joined in the final by compatriot Máté Dekany, securing a Hungarian one-two finish, while Simeon Serev of Bulgaria and Peter Gonda of Hungary completed the podium in third place.

The women’s competition saw Bulgaria claim gold, as Iva Stoyanova delivered an impressive run to the top step of the podium. Hungary followed closely behind with Rozalia Toth earning silver, while Odett Feher and Lizett Pluhar added two more bronze medals to Hungary’s tally in a highly competitive field.

Vienna sabre weekend delivers high-level battles

At the Eurofence League stage in Vienna, senior sabre fencers took to the pistes, showcasing speed, precision and tactical sharpness across both men’s and women’s events.

In the men’s competition, Ferenc Modos of Hungary emerged victorious, confirming his strong form with a confident performance in the final. Roland Ferenc Papai secured silver, completing another Hungarian double, while Lumír Kral of the Czech Republic and Italy’s Nicola Raggi shared the bronze medals.

The women’s event saw Italy on top, with Ludovica Carnevale claiming gold after a composed and decisive final. Germany’s Caroline Jaehring finished second, while Franziska Tanzmeister of Austria and Nicole Thome of Germany completed the podium with bronze medals.
