The 2026 EFC U14 Festival came to a successful conclusion in Cividale del Friuli on Saturday, with three more champions crowned after another day of exciting competition. Following Friday's opening events, young fencers competed for the final gold medals in Men's Épée, Women's Foil and Women's Sabre, bringing to an end a memorable weekend that celebrated Europe's next generation of fencing talent.
Men's Épée – Daniil Taraskin Delivers Gold for Georgia
Georgia celebrated victory in the Men's Épée competition as Daniil Taraskin produced a series of confident performances to claim the title. Hungary's Mate Dekany earned the silver medal after reaching the final, while Italy's Nicola Oronzo Innamorato and Poland's Grzegorz Warecki completed the podium with bronze medals.
Women's Foil – Turkish Success Through Kursunoglu
The Women's Foil title went to Türkiye thanks to an outstanding performance from Nisan Mercan Kursunoglu, who finished at the top of the podium. Italy's Adelaide Rosini delighted the home crowd with the silver medal, while Hungary's Rode Weber and Italy's Emma Ballarin shared the bronze medals.
Women's Sabre – Delcheva Finishes Strong for Bulgaria
The final gold medal of the festival was awarded in the Women's Sabre event, where Sofia Delcheva of Bulgaria emerged victorious. Germany's Maja Nattuvetty claimed silver, while the host nation celebrated two more podium finishes through Matilde Mia Montobbio and Melissa Raggi, who both earned bronze medals.
A Successful Celebration of European Youth Fencing
Over two days of competition, the EFC U14 Festival once again demonstrated the bright future of European fencing. Young athletes from across the continent gained valuable international experience while competing in an atmosphere of friendship, respect and fair play.
The European Fencing Confederation congratulates all six champions, every medal winner and all participants for their performances throughout the weekend, and extends its sincere thanks to the organisers, volunteers, referees, coaches and families whose dedication made another successful edition of the EFC U14 Festival possible.
