The Legal Commission is composed of a President and members who are qualified and practising lawyers, judges, or notaries.

The Commission is responsible for preparing and reviewing all proposals relating to the Statutes and the Internal Rules for approval by the Executive Committee prior to submission to the Congress. It also proposes amendments to the Statutes and Internal Rules when deemed necessary and ensures that all such texts are fully consistent with the Statutes of the FIE and their annexes.

In addition, the Legal Commission provides legal support and protection to the EFC and appoints members to serve on the Election Commission.
